Greener Grove's Microgreens enjoyed a hands-on experience in the backyard "classroom" of DG resident food-foresters, Ron and Vicki Nowicki on Sunday, September 14th.

The purpose of this experience was to learn from local environmental mentors - in their own backyard - about how to live in harmony with the land and wildlife.

Big thanks to 8th grader, Sophie Lofgren, who helped us organize and plan for this event.

We shared a formal mini-lesson about growing food and a garden tour by gardener Ron Nowicki himself.

Microgreens had the chance to pick and taste the food of the forest.

Each child created something from the garden: drawings, journal entries, poems, and crowns were made and shared with one another at the end of our time together.
